Monday, January 1, 2007
5 Miles Class B	MARSH CREEK - Join HLs Gary and Susan Erb for our traditional New Year’s Day hike. Meet at 10:00 AM at the west boat dock in Marsh Creek State Park. Directions: Route 282 west out of Downingtown for about 4 miles to the village of Lyndell. Turn right on Lyndell Road and follow signs to Marsh Creek State Park. Wear orange! After the hike, join the group that goes to the Kinzer Fire Company on Route 30 for a sauerkraut and pork dinner. If you're going to dinner, please arrive early for the hike so Susan can collect your $11 for dinner if not already paid...exact amount appreciated.

6 Miles Class A	FULL MOON HIKE ALONG STRUBLE TRAIL - Follow Struble Trail by the light of the full moon. Join HLs Adele and Pete Hinckley at 7:00 PM at Kardon Park for a hike up and down the Struble Trail. Directions: from west on Business Route 30, turn right on Wallace Ave. (at the traffic light in the center of Downingtown). At the next traffic light, turn right on Pennsylvania Ave. and continue to parking on the left. Steady rain cancels. Well-behaved dogs on leash welcome.

11 Miles Class A One Way Drive 45 Miles	Parvin State Park - Join HL Don Barber for an easy walking loop hike through the beautiful holly forests and around the swans lakes of this New Jersey state park. Meet at 9:00 AM in the parking lot behind the MRI center in Concordville on Route 1 about 0.5 mile east of the Route 1 and Route 202 intersection. Bring water and lunch.

12 Miles Class A	Schuylkill Trail - Spring Mill to Manayunk - Join HL Ginger Schramm for a hike to Manayunk, have lunch at the Manayunk Brewery and then hike back to Spring Mill. Meet at 9:30 AM in the parking lot of the Spring Mill Train Station. Directions: from King of Prussia, go east on the Schuylkill Expressway to the Conshohocken exit. Take the right-hand fork at exit and cross bridge to Conshohocken. Take first right after bridge on Elm Street and go 0.9 miles. Turn left on Sandy Street then immediately right on Hector Street and go 0.3 miles to traffic light and turn right on Station Avenue. Go 0.1 mile to parking lot on left. Bring water and money for lunch.

6 Miles Class B	VALLEY FORGE - FREEDOMS FOUNDATION - Meet HL Ingrid Cantarella-Fox at 10:00 AM in the parking lot of the Valley Forge Visitor Center for this walk along the Schuylkill to the Freedom's Foundation. Directions: Valley Forge Visitor Center is at the intersection of Route 23 and Route 422. Park in the recommended visitor parking; restrooms are available. Bring snack and water.

5 Miles Class A	STRUBLE LAKE - Join HLs Gary and Susan Erb at 1:30 PM for a country *road walk* around Struble Lake. Directions: take Route 282 West from Downingtown. Go 13 miles to the end (which is soon after crossing over Route 82). Turn left onto Bollinger Road for 0.2 mile to New Road (sharp right turn), for 0.7 mile. Turn left onto Isabella Road for 0.9 mile, then right onto Morgantown Road for 0.4 mile to parking lot on left. Bring snack and water.

5 Miles Class A	Chesterbrook AND WILSON PARK - Meet HL Pauline Jordan at 1:30 PM in the parking lot of the Chesterbrook Shopping Center. Directions: from Route 202 Chesterbrook exit; follow Chesterbrook Boulevard for 1 mile to the shopping center on the right. Turn right into entrance and then make an immediate left and follow to far parking lot, just past Manhattan Bagel. Walking shoes are ok. Bring snack and water.

14 Miles Class B	HORSE-SHOE TRAIL - French Creek to Plowville - Join HL Jim Smith in the 4th of the series to complete the Horse-Shoe Trail. Meet at 7:00 AM at the Marchwood Shopping Center, directly below the Exton Diner, off Route 100, 2 miles north of Route 30. Bring snack, water, and lunch.

14 Miles Class B One Way Drive 20 Miles	MASON-DIXON TRAIL, ELKTON TO NEWARK - Join HLs Dot and Chuck Baker for the third in the series of hikes to cover the entire length of the 190 mile Mason-Dixon Trail. Meet at 7:30 AM at the Chadds Ford Elementary School. Directions: the school is located on Route 1 just south of the Brandywine Museum. Turn right at the first light after the museum. It is a 20-mile drive to the trailhead and a 10-mile shuttle. Bring snack, lunch, and water.
